India conducted Surgical Strikes Last Night Across LoC At Terror Launchpads

Addressing a joint press conference with External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup on Thursday, DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh said, “Indian Army conducted surgical strikes on terror launch pads on the LoC. Heavy damages have been caused to terrorists and many of them have been killed.”
“I spoke to the Pakistan DGMO and shared our concerns. I told him that we conducted surgical strikes last night,” Lt Gen Singh said.
The Army said special commandos crossed the LoC last night, conducted the operation in the Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) and returned to the Indian side without any casualty. The Air Force was not involved in the surgical strike and the entire operation was monitered by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval from the Army headquarters in New Delhi.
Going into details about the strike, Singh said that there were no Indian casualties during strikes, adding, “Indian armed forces are ready for any contingency, but no plans as of now for further operations,” DGMO said.
“We can’t allow terrorists to operate across the LoC, there has been a surge in infiltration. It has been a matter of serious concern that there have been many infiltration bids by terrorists at LoC. Despite our persistent urging to Pakistan to not allow territory under its control to not be used for terrorist activities nothing was done,” DGMO Singh said.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has responded on the surgical strike along LoC by India. Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has condemned the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army along the LoC. He has been quoted a saying – “We condemn this attack, our desire for peace should not be interpreted as our weakness.”
