Surgical Strikes 2.0 will be remembered forever as one of the biggest achievement of India. Indian Air Force conducted air strikes on the biggest terror camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Pakistan’s Balakot at around 3.30 am on Tuesday. Why is it different from Surgical Strikes conducted in the past?
For the first time since many decades India took the fight deep into the Pakistan territory. Until now, The focus was only on the infiltration of terrorists across the Line of Control. India hasn’t crossed the LoC to target terror camp after 1971 war against Pakistan. Our Jets hadn’t crossed LoC even during the 1999 Kargil War.
In these Air Strikes carried out in Pakistan territory, Around 300 Terrorists were believed to have been killed at once. Indian Air Force Jets got into Pakistan Territory and eliminated terror camps. This attack came within a week after Pak Army Spokesperson Maj Gen Ghafoor told: ‘Pakistan Armed Forces will never be surprised by you. I can assure you that we shall surprise you’.
From now, Pakistan Rulers will keep in mind that India can carry out such surgical strikes again depending on the situation.
Why India Attacked JeM’s Balakot Terror Camp?
Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale explained why India targeted the terror camp of Jaish-e-Mohammed during the media briefing: ‘We have credible information about the training of fedayeen jihadis in the Balakot Camp. Intelligence cautioned about few more suicide terror attacks planned by JeM in other parts of the country. A non-military pre-emptive strike became absolutely necessary’.
Close to 300 Terrorists have been eliminated with the air strikes at Balakot. Measures have been taken by the Indian Air Force to avoid civilian casualties. The terror camp was led by JeM Chief Maulana Masood Azhar’s Brother-in-Law Maulana Yousuf Azhar.
Balakot Terror Camp was located in the dense forest on a hilltop which is far away from the civilian area. This camp is being used by JeM to train terrorists for fedayeen attacks.
Indian Army’s Poetic Touch After Air Strikes
Hours after the air strikes on the Jaish-e-Mohammed Terror Camp in Pakistan, The Indian Army posted a Hindi Poem on its official Twitter Handle. Additional Director General (Public Information) posted this poem penned by Hindi Poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.
Here is the essence of the Poem – ‘If you are docile and polite before the enemy, You will be considered as a coward…the way Kauravas treated Pandavas. Peace is possible only if you are in a powerful position and capable to win’.
According to the Poem, Indian Army is pretty sure that Pakistan won’t seek peace unless if it pays a huge price. The Air Strikes in the Pakistan Territory certainly worries the terrorists and those who are funding/providing shelter.
Pakistan Government and it’s Army denies losing anything with the air strikes carried out Indian Air Force but cries foul on violation of the Line of Control by India. While India claims to have eliminated around 300 terrorists, Pakistan says there wasn’t even a single casualty.
