India’s shooting champion Abhinav Bindra missed out on a medal as he came 4th in the 10m Air Rifle final after scoring 163.8 and here is the reason that caused him a medal and the reason will make you even more proud of the ace shooter .

Abhinav Bindra at Rio 2016

Abhinav Bindra is one of the world’s most skillful shooter and was a prime contender for the Gold in the 10m Air Rifle shooting event and whole india is banking on the ace shooter to get the first gold to the country at Rio 2016. Abhinav Bindra missed out on a medal by a bleak margin yesterday as he stood 4th in the 10m Air Rifle final after scoring 163.8 and missed Bronze by a tiny margin.

And while everyone seems to think it wasn’t his day or that these things happen  or the champion is on off target today, there’s a story behind why he missed out on a medal. A senior journalist Digvijay Singh Deo who witnessed the incident took it to twitter to share an incident that had happened with Abhinav Bindra in the morning, before his event.

“Earlier in the day, Abhinav Bindra had falled down with his gun which caused his sight to get damaged (‘sight’ is the piece of equipment in the rifle through which a shooter takes aim.”  A senior journalist Digvijay Singh Deo wrote on Twitter.

Even with a replacement rifle, Abhinav did not back down or cause nuisance because he wanted to remain focused. He struggled with the replacement rifle but still managed to come 4th.

All of this makes us respect the hell out of Abhinav Bindra. He may have missed out on a medal, but he hasn’t missed out on gaining his countrymen’s respect.

Abhinav Bindra’s dedication for his country is way more important than any medal. Thank you, Champion. We will always support you.
