Edward Michael “Bear” Grylls is a Northern Irish adventurer, writer and television presenter. He is widely known for his television series Man vs. Wild, originally titled Born Survivor. Why Did Bear Grylls Want To Join the Indian Army?

However, he still spent some time with Indian Army in Sikkim. Bear was highly fascinated with the skills and adventure he experienced during his India visit.
Bear had a friend named Watty. His family knew a retired Indian Army officer , who wanted to train young mountaineers. So, Bear and Watty came to INDIA and spent a month in the India Himalayas and Darjeeling.
” I spent quite some time in India before I joined the army. I went out there climbing, and up in West Bengal and all around Darjeeling. I love India. We were in Calcutta for a while and then we were with the Indian Army as well. It’s a place I really love, and I’m really looking forward to getting back there for a long time.”
From what he had said,we can get to know why he wanted to join the Indian Army. Its because he loved our Country and People and was impressed with the adventure’s done by the Armed forced. So, in simple, he was influenced by the way of life an Indian Army officer lives. Further he was influenced by the adventure he experienced during his mountaineering studies.
